Development of the new DVB-T2 IP core completed

The manufacturer DIVIBROAD will deliver at the end of Q3 2012 its modulators with the new DVB-T2 standard. The software development was already completed in early December. Currently first hardware circuits can be tested.

DVB-T2, the successor of DVB-T standards, is characterized by greater transmission capacity at the same bandwidth and transmit power. Not only SDTV, but also HDTV and H.264 data streams can thus be transmitted in an efficient manner, and for the transmission of large amounts of data and Internet services, the use of DVB-T2 modulation may be useful. The new modulator combines all the advantages of DVB-T2 modulation. In addition to the powerful LDPC error correction, it also offers all four modulation types QPSK, 16QAM, 64QAM and 256QAM modes as well as the new IFFT and MISO.
